Poetry Writing Prompts, Part Two

Part two of a previous post! Here are five writing prompts to write poetry.

  1. Include these words in a poem: feather, leaf, stream, ring.
  2. Read a poem by another poet, either famous or unknown. Write a poem inspired by either their subject matter or style (or both!).
  3. Write a poem about a fictional person. What does their day look like? How do they do certain things? What makes them unique?
  4. Think about a happy experience you had, and try to convey the feeling through your words.
  5. Write a four-part poem inspired by the seasons.
